I recently started reading the Logo, Font and Lettering Bible again. There are a lot of examples of logos, icons and typography in the book from the first half of the 20th century. That style particularly that of the 1950s drove me to a search for ads of that era. There is something about the design of the 50s, especially the typography, that has such a timeless appeal. I received an email today from David Cohen that contained a link to one of the most incredible CG animated shorts that I have ever seen. Typically I don’t go for CG due to it looking sort of stale or lacking in photorealistic qualities. But what I found in this short video was simply breathtaking. Each frame is a beautiful design, so full of texture and photographic qualities… I would have never guessed it was entirely CG.
