A Double Life Takes So Much Work. Why Would Anyone Bother?
“A fantastic debut . . . This is a sweeping novel, unflinching and evocative in its engrossing study of love, motherhood, sex, Mexico, journalism, and more.”
The Los Angeles Times Books
A Cross-border Murder Mystery’s Real Target: Our True-crime Obsession
“In this enthralling and beautifully written debut novel, true-crime journalist Cassie Bowman believes she’s stumbled on a career-making story when she hears about bigamist Lore Rivera, whose first husband is in prison for killing the second one.”
Our most heartfelt congratulations, Katie. Your dream is coming true right now!
Over her seven years with RTC, Katie was instrumental to the publication of dozens of books.
Katie was a writer and executive editor at RTC between the years 2007 and 2015. She proofread and offered revision suggestions on one of our first titles, From the Barrio to the Board Room, wrote stunningly for Carmen Tarleton’s award-winning Overcome, edited rigorously for Doug Luffborouogh’s Watch Me Rise, oversaw nearly all of the 18 books in the ORP Library for children with special needs (many of which she wrote!), and championed literally dozens of other titles. So many of us have been blessed by Katie’s talent and heart.
Back in 2013, Katie recorded this video about her beginnings with us (in 2007!), and how our journey together started with my question to her about how our company could support her work as a writer. If this amazing young woman only knew what the world had in store for her!
But wait. There’s more!
In addition to being featured in Good Morning America, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times, More Than You’ll Ever Know has been named a Best Book of the Summer by the Boston Globe and one of the Summer’s Hottest Mysteries by Goodreads. What could possibly be even more exciting? The story rights have been optioned by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Media, whose mission is to elevate stories and voices that bend the arc.
